SEAT Adds 4WD Option to Alhambra Minivan

The VW Sharan's Spanish sibling is now more worthy of the “multi-purpose” label as SEAT has presented a new variant with a permanent all-wheel drive system for the Alhambra. Video: Dacia Logan with Volkswagen 2.8-liter VR6 Engine!

I don’t know if the word Dacia gives James May that fizzing sensation he often talks about, but the Top Gear host seems pretty fond of the Romanian brand. Same goes for low-budget European buyers who see the Renault-era Dacias as well priced models with affordable maintenance costs. One of the Romanian firm's latest cars, the Duster was even nominated for the 2011 COTY award.

However, the brand's models aren't exactly exciting, even more so when it comes to sheer performance with their mundane, small displacement petrol and diesel engines. But as always, for every problem there's a fix. This man's answer was to ditch the Logan sedan's four-cylinder and throw in a 2.8-liter VR6 Volkswagen engine.

New Seat Alhambra MPV: VW Sharan's Twin Brother Officially Revealed

Today, Seat lifted the wraps off its all-new Alhambra people carrier that will go on sale across Europe this summer. If you've seen the latest generation Volkswagen Sharan that was unveiled at last month's Geneva Motor Show, then the Alhambra will come to no surprise.

2011 Volkswagen Sharan: First Photos of Next Generation 7-Seater MPV

[Updated with High-res photos and additional details ] We weren't supposed to see the all-new VW Sharan before the opening of the Geneva Motor Show tomorrow, but the first official pictures of the German firm's seven-seater MPV were leaked onto the internet today.

On the outside, the new Sharan adopts Volkswagen's new design language with crisper lines and a wide, horizontal front grille.

The interior has been thoroughly updated and looks far more upscale and modern that the outgoing model, but that shouldn't come as a surprise as the first-generation of the Sharan (redesigned in 2000) was introduced way back in 1995...

Volkswagen Teases All-New Sharan MPV Ahead of Geneva Motor Show

The countdown for the presentation of the all-new Sharan people-carrier has began as the first teaser photo of the MPV along with a timer that shows the days left for its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show has made its appearance on Volkswagen's public site.

The up-skirt image reveals the new Sharan's front fascia (headlight and grille design) that keeps in line with other Volkswagen products such as the latest generation Polo and Golf.

We don't have anything else on the Touran's big brother, but we gather that it will most likely feature sliding rear doors and seat up to seven passengers in three rows, and that, unlike the current model that shared a common platform with Ford's previous generation Galaxy MPV, Volkswagen is all alone on this one.
