What if Citroen Made a C3 Crosser out of the Mitsubishi ASX?

Given the close relationship between the Peugeot Citroen PSA group and Mitsubishi that has already given birth to the Outlander-based Citroen C Crosser and Peugeot 4007 SUVs, we wouldn't be surprised if Theophilus Chin's photoshop proposal for a Citroen C3 Crosser model based on Mitsubishi's 'baby' crossover model, the all-new ASX, becomes a reality in a couple of years.

'ASX' is the name that Mitsubishi chose for the European version of the JDM RVR that will have its world premiere at this year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show in early March.

Making a surprise debut at the British Motor Show in London (July 22 – August 3), the C-Crosser Commercial is the latest addition in Citroen’s light commercial vehicle range. Based on the C-Crosser SUV which is essentially a redesigned Mitsubishi Outlander, the new C-Crosser Commercial comes with standard four-wheel-drive system and a 156 Hp 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine. -Continued

Combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, the C-Crosser Commercial can accelerate from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 9.9 seconds and has a top speed of 124mph (200 mph) while achieving an avg. fuel economy of 47.9mpg (40mpg US) on the extra-urban cycle.

Compared to the “civilian” version, the C-Crosser Commercial features blacked out rear windows and a completely flat, 1,720 mm long floor bed thanks to the removal of the rear seats. A full height bulkhead with a window separates the driving compartment from the load area, which is fitted with protective carpet mats and 6 tie down eyes for improved practicality. The C-Crosser Commercial features a payload capacity of 743kg, a maximum towing weight of 2,410kg, a load compartment volume of 2.3m3 and a load deck height of 600mm.

There are two available versions the, VTR which is priced from £16,995 + VAT + delivery, and the better equipped VTR+, which is priced from £18,425 + VAT + delivery.
