IAA 2011: SsangYong XIV-1 Concept Foretells New Baby CUV


The new SsangYong XIV-1 Concept is undoubtedly that, a concept study, but according to the South Korean manufacturer, it also provides a very good indication of an upcoming crossover model described as a "premium B-segment CUV".

From certain angles, the exterior design of the XIV-1 does bear a resemblance to the Range Rover Evoque, especially up front with the clam shell design of the hood and the wheel arch lines (see here).

SsangYong XIV-1 Concept Comes into the Light



After teasing us with a trio of smoked out artist's renderings a couple of weeks ago, SsangYong has released two new images of the Frankfurt motorshow-bound XIV-1 concept study, this time without the shade effect.

The South Korean automaker, which is now part of India's US$12.5 billion Mahindra Group, supports that the XIV-1 as a "premium crossover utility vehicle (CUV)" designed for the global market.

Geneva 2011: SsangYong Says SUT 1 Aims to be the “World’s Best Pickup Truck”…


Ladies and gents, meet South Korea's SsanYong latest creation, the SUT 1 Concept that was revealed at this week's 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The SUT 1 is a pre-production study of an SUV with a truck bed at the back that will replace the current Actyon Sports. According to the troubled (in more ways than one, as you'll see) automaker, the goal of the SUT 1 concept is simple -ahem- "to be the world's best pick-up truck."

SsangYong Believes Actyon Sports is Popular Enough to Spawn a Successor, Concept Model Coming to Geneva


SsangYong, the ailing South Korean automaker that will soon pass into the control of India's Mahindra & Mahindra, will present a new concept model of its Actyon Sports at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. To be precise, SsangYong said in a statement that it will show "a stylish new concept of its popular Actyon Sports" called the SUT 1. You can see a selection of pictures of the current "popular" Actyon Sports as well as its precursor, the unforgettable Musso SUT after the jump.
