We’re talking about the top dog in Aston Martin’s current lineup, the One-77 supercar, which was filmed here on the streets of London as it was being started up and ready to launch, by a Youtube user. VIDEO: Aston Martin One-77 hits the Nürburgring

A while back, Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, said that "the One-77 is approaching a production reality and… the next steps are all about details and refinement to complete the composition."

Well, it seems that engineers and test drivers are indeed refining this 750-horsepower beast these days, as a prototype model has been caught on video while frantically lapping the Nürburgring race track.

VIDEO: New Driving Footage of Aston Martin's One-77 Supercar

Here's a new video clip of Britain's most expensive supercar, the £1.25 million (that's about US$1.9 million or €1.4 million) Aston Martin One-77 undergoing extensive testing in advance of the first customer deliveries scheduled for later this year.

Aston Martin's most exclusive vehicle to date, is also the automaker's fastest having already recorded a top speed of 220.007mph or 354.86 km/h during testing in December at a secret proving ground in southern Europe.

Aston Martin One-77 Supercar Records 220mph - 355km/h Top Speed During Testing

When it's not 'badging' around with mundane Japanese mini cars like the Toyota iQ, Aston Martin is actually in the business of making exotic supercars like the limited run One-77 which has moved closer to setting a new all-time record for the British marque after breaking the 200mph - 320km/h mark in initial high speed testing at a secret proving ground in southern Europe.

In fact, Aston Martin said that in a series of test runs completed last week, the One-77 exceeded the firm's original expectations by recording a top velocity of 220.007mph (354.86kmh) in "dry but windy conditions", meaning that the Brits are expecting the exclusive supercar to go even faster in better conditions.

The British maker said that it will continue the development of the One-77 in the new year with handling tests.

The two-door, two-seat supercar uses a carbon fibre monocoque chassis with power being provided by a front-mounted, 7.3-liter V12 engine cranking out around 750HP. The V12 sends its power to the rear wheels through a new six-speed robotized gearbox with paddles shifters on the steering wheel.

With a projected weight of around 1,500kg or 3,300 lbs, Aston Martin expects the €1.1+ million One-77 to hit 0-60mph (96km/h) in 3.5 seconds.

As the supercar's name suggests, only 77 individually numbered examples will be built, with first deliveries expected to commence in mid-2010.

Aston Martin One-77 Supercar Photos Leaked!

So much for Aston Martins attempts to keep its forthcoming One-77 supercar (partially) under covers; a Dutch website has just unleashed a set of pictures revealing all the juicy design details of the limited edition model. Judging by the black headlights, we gather that these photos depict a prototype version -quite possibly even a clay model. Nevertheless, this is what the One-77 will look like when it hits the roads sometime in 2009. -Continued

While clearly recognizable as a modern Aston Martin, the One-77 is more aggressively styled than its less extravagant stable mates. Unique features include the Xtra large side air vents which sort of bring to mind the ones found on the SLR McLaren and the 'flat-faced' front end with the tear-like air vents under the headlamps.

According to the British firm, the One-77 is based on a sophisticated carbon fibre chassis with a handcrafted aluminium body and it is equipped with a 7.3 litre V12 engine putting out approximately 700HP. Production of the supercar is said to be limited to 77 units -hence the name- each priced at around £1,050,000 (about $1.65 million or €1.3 million) excluding VAT and all the other taxes that go into the purchase.

Aston Martin One-77 Supercar - The Video

Following the teaser upskirt at the Paris Motor Show where Aston Martin partially lifted the covers off its mysterious One-77 coupe (see more details by clicking here), the Brits released a short film featuring the company's CEO Bez Ulrich and chief designer Mark Reichman attempting to enlighten us on the supercar project and how it embodies the philosophy and essence of the brand like no other vehicle has done in before etc, etc. Watch it after the jump, but be careful you don't fall asleep or even worse, burst into tears...

Aston Martin One-77 Upskirts from Paris

If you though teaser images were bad wait until you see what Aston Martin did at the Paris Motor Show opening today. The Brits brought along with them a prototype model of the overhyped Project One-77. And while everyone was expecting that Aston Martin would fully unveil the 7.3-litre V12 supercar, the Brits simply lifted part of the cover revealing only a fraction of the vehicle’s front-end! If that’s not a tease, we don’t what it is. -Continued
