Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Le Monstre to Terrorize Las Vegas with 1,001HP Supercharged V8

The SEMA Show is all about excess - be that for the appearance and performance of the tuned cars or the…upgraded booth models.

And there seems to be plenty of that going on with the 2012 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe created by "The D3 Group", which will be displayed at Toyo Tire U.S.A.'s booth at the Las Vegas aftermarket show.

Ford’s Reliability Suffers in Consumer Reports Survey, Japanese Brands Rule and Europeans are a Mixed Bag

Consumer Reports has published its 2011 annual auto survey in which the main point of interest, as the report states, is a sharp decline in Ford’s so far “solid reliability record”: the Detroit carmaker dropped 10 places in the overall reliability ranks.

According to CR's survey, which is based on responses from 1.3 million vehicles owners, Ford’s drop from 10th to 20th place among 28 carmakers can be attributed to two main factors. The first is that all three of Ford’s new models, i.e. the Explorer, Fiesta and Focus, scored below average in reliability in their first year on the market.

Right on CUE: 2012 Cadillac XTS, ATS and SRX to Get New Infotainment System

There was a time when premium car buyers were content with full leather upholstery, plenty of wood trim, plush carpets and a great sound system. That time is long gone. Nowadays the latest fad is infotainment systems.

Cadillac may have lagged in this department, especially when compared to its top rivals, but from next year, the Detroit company plans to more than make up for it.

Today, Cadillac unveiled the first interior shots of its DTS- and STS-replacing saloon, the upcoming XTS. However, contrary to standard practice, it didn't focus on the quality or the abundance of space. Instead, it revealed its new CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment, navigation and communication system that will launch in 2012 in the XTS, the ATS and the SRX crossover.

GM Unleashes the 2013 Cadillac ATS Sedan on the Nürburgring [with Video]

It may have taken a while, but if anything else, General Motors is showing signs that it has learned its lesson from the German competition and has even brought the game to their "backyard" challenging its rivals on the Nürburgring racetrack.

While Chevy's team was trying to record a fast lap around the "Green Hell" with the Camaro ZL1, Cadillac engineers brought the upcoming ATS sports sedan to the "Ring for a two week-long trial in September.

GM published a new video that provides us with an inside glimpse of the testing that took place and which you can watch in the clip below.

New Cadillac CTS Coupe Becomes Best-Seller in its Segment in the U.S.

“If it looks right, it’ll fly right”: the saying from the aeronautical field isn’t always accurate. But as far as cars are concerned, if it looks right, then you can bet that this will affect sales in a positive way.

One such example is the new Cadillac CTS Coupe. Few can deny that it's appearance is one of its strong points, and sales figures prove that it surely flies - out of the showrooms, that is.

Only a year after launch, the CTS Coupe is the best-selling mid-size luxury coupe in the U.S., and it's competing for the title of the best-selling luxury coupe in the market, or at least that's what General Motors is claiming.

Rumors: 2013 Cadillac ATS Sedan to Receive New 2.0-liter Turbo Engine

For many years, American car buyers adhered to the popular slogan “there’s no replacement for displacement”, but consumer habits are changing and the auto industry is slowly moving away from large and thirsty engines to smaller but equally powerful turbocharged powerplants.

The upcoming 2013 Cadillac ATS, with which General Motors wants to compete directly with the German competition in the premium compact sedan segment, will be one of the latest American models to make use of smaller displacement engines.

Cadillac Challenges Mercedes-Benz by Pitting the Escalade Against the C-Class [Video]

We think most of you will agree with us when we say that, for the same reasons the Cadillac Escalade is extremely profitable, it also doesn't quite fit the brand's current image being sort of a throwback to the glory days of the classic American cruiserships.

But this didn't stop General Motors from raising the ante in yet another provocative commercial for Cadillac that follows the CTS-V spot featuring the Ferrari 458 Italia.

This time, the General took the Escalade and pointed its ammo towards Mercedes-Benz and its C-Class sedan. The video spot shows the big Caddy V8 beating the C300 on a straight line duel, and then…hauling back the Merc.

SCOOP: 2013 Cadillac ATS Hits the Road for Testing

Here's another chance to take a look at the upcoming 2013 Cadillac ATS, GM's answer to the executive compact sedan segment dominated by the likes of BMW's 3-Series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

And just in case you're wondering, the introduction of the ATS will lead to a larger next-generation CTS to better compete against cars like the BMW 5-Series and the latest Lexus GS.

Our scoop photographers captured the 2013 Cadillac ATS while testing in Europe. Even though the prototype is clothed in camouflage, we manage to get a taste of the car's size as well as Cadillac's edgy design language with prominent creases running along sides and the front and rear ends of the ATS.

General Motors Takes Over Japan's Import Operations

General Motors has announced that it is consolidating imports to Japan, terminating the cooperation with its local partner, Mitsui Bussan. The move, which will go into effect on November 1, is intended to improve GM's image and, more importantly, streamline the sales process.

Since 1992, Mitsui Bussan has imported a total of 12,000 GM models that were mostly sold through its own dealer network, although some were distributed by GM official dealers. Its sales have been falling since 1995.

Report: GM May Build a Production Model Inspired by the Ciel

“If you build it, he will come”; now this may be the whisper heard by Kevin Costner in the 1989 movie Field of Dreams, but it also stands true for any product –and especially cars.

No matter what your image or marketing strategy, in the long term the product itself makes or breaks a carmaker. Recent “rags to riches” stories include Hyundai, Kia and Skoda, all of which a little over a decade ago were offering below par, or at best acceptable, models but are now posting record sales year after year thanks to their new, much improved range.

Cadillac, once the default choice in the luxury car segment in North America, witnessed a streak of uncompetitive products ruin its image and sales before GM buckled up and began reshaping the brand starting with the CTS.

Cadillac Claims to Have Made the 2012 Escalade More Difficult to Steal

In America, the Cadillac Escalade is the favorite choice of thieves, according to the latest study from Highway Loss Data Institute, which we told you about on Thursday. In fact, Cadillac's larger than life SUV has topped the list for several years now.

The problem is that- as you may remember from previous reports- the Escalade is popular amongst thieves not only because stars of all sorts have immortalized it, but also because some security flaws made certain model year versions easy to steal.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall campaign for two separate issues concerning GM trucks and SUVs.

The first recall concerns 6,768 units of the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon from the 2011MY due to a failure in a transmission clip that may not engage the “Parking” mode even though the driver has moved the lever to the appropriate position.
